This Outfit is Soft Dramatic Perfection

This outfit is perfection for a Kibbe Soft Dramatic body type:

  • Wrap-style

  • Asymmetrical

  • Dramatic ruffle flourishes

  • Cinched at the waist

  • Slightly straight (rather than a-line) but not super fitted or overly tailored

  • Knee length (SD’s are typically over 5’5” and many dresses are a tad too short, making our legs appear large because of our larger bones)

  • Bold color

I was happy to purchase this outfit locally in Vermont: Dress from Mendy's Clothing

Shoes from Harbour Thread

The red dress by Rachel Roy that I’m wearing is no longer available. Here's a similar item.

As Soft Dramatics we don’t have to be shy about our wardrobe. Our bold essence can pull it off. I used to struggle with this living in a place like Vermont that tends to be casual and sporty. I tried to fit in for a while, wearing a lot of fleece and hiking boots and baseball caps. I still wear those things sometimes, but I’m also not afraid to wear glamorous oversized sun hats and sunglasses, pointy shoes and chic prints. Learning about Kibbe body types validated the internal “yes” I craved to be me no matter what everyone around me is wearing. Do you know your Kibbe Body ID? Google Kibbe Body Type quiz. It’s not easy to see our bodies objectively so it’s challenging to take the quiz. Give it a try and let me know what type you get and if it resonates with you.
